Oregon Coast Trip - Evan & Erin

Posted by Steve on May 8th, 2008

2008-03-25As the title suggests, this post focuses on our children, Evan and Erin. All the photos featured below were taken during our Oregon Coast trip back in March. But unlike the previous posts in this series, you’ll have to click through and view these photos in our gallery. They’re in a private album that requires you to go through a simple registration process (if you don’t already have a username and password) to view them. And please, please feel free to register. Even if we only kinda sorta know who you are, you’re still welcome to view our “private” photos.

As an almost-3-year-old, Evan’s at a fun age for a trip like this. He’s self-mobile, able to ask questions, and routinely makes amazing observations. The Oregon Coast offers many opportunities to exercise all those wonderful skills. Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t to say we haven’t done battle with the so-called “Terrible Twos” — we most definitely have! And let me tell ya — it isn’t pretty! That being said, the first photo in this post is of Evan at perhaps my favorite place along the Oregon Coast: The Devil’s Churn. He’s on the lookout for big waves.

Here are thumbnail links to some additional shots:

2008-03-23As you may have noticed, Erin hasn’t made many appearances on our blog yet. I have to admit, since Erin was born, I’ve felt somewhat guilty about the lack of photos (and video) that I’ve taken of her (compared to Evan). It’s just very difficult to make the time when you already have an almost-3-year-old running around. I’m doing better, though, and during our trip, I was able to get a few really nice shots.

Erin is usually a very happy, fun-loving baby. She’s very social, full of smiles, and absolutely loves to baby talk. As the photo shows, she enjoys listening in when Jen reads stories to Evan. The only problem is that sometimes she’ll join right in, babbling a mile a minute as Jen tries to read! (It’s adorable to listen to!) Fortunately, Evan’s a very understanding big brother, and this does not seem to bother him.

In the album linked below, you’ll be able to browse through the photos of Evan & Erin from our trip.

The end of this series of posts from our March trip to the Oregon Coast is nearing completion. I’ve got one more post in mind after this one. Stay tuned!

Erin is adorable! Sounds like she’s suffering from second-child photo syndrome, though. Try to catch up — because she’ll call you on it years down the road!
