Trip to Cannon Beach

Posted by Steve on July 1st, 2006

2006-06-11June 16th was my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and to celebrate the occasion, the family gathered in Cannon Beach, OR, for an extended weekend. We stayed at The Victorian at White Heron Lodge, which is part of the Waves Motel. We rented the entire building, which consists of 4 beachfront units in a single, two-story building. This allowed each family to have their own suite but kept everyone close together. (The Victorian is very nice, and we plan to return someday!) My siblings and I had arranged for a photographer to take family photos overlooking Cannon Beach and its famous Haystack Rock. And we’d also planned an oceanfront dinner at The Wayfarer, complete with flowers and an anniversary cake inspired by my parents’ original wedding cake. The weather was gorgeous up until the morning of our departure, and we even had a campfire on the last night. Overall, the weekend was a great success. I think a good time was had by all, and it was fun to see everyone.

Most of the photos we took centered around the anniversary celebration and would probably not be of much interest here. Instead, we’re just posting a few photos of Evan in a private gallery.

  1. Adventure Out Says:

Cannon Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches around. We ran into a cool surf school up there last time we were in town as well - Oregon Surf Adventures (i think) - great group of people. Check them out!
