Evan was sitting on the floor flipping through the newspaper and tearing off pieces to chew or toss to the side. He was happy, and Jen was more than happy that he found something fun to do. Then Evan took a small piece of paper and handed it to Jen. She thanked him for sharing some of his paper and took the small piece. Then she looked at it and noticed he had torn one small word out of an entire advertisement. The word was “NO”. It was in all caps and in bright yellow. Jen looked at Evan and smiled. Although he had no idea what the paper said, it was clearly a sign that the future would be full of “NO”s from this little toddler.
