We watched a movie tonight called My Architect: A Son’s Journey. It’s a documentary about the famous American architect Louis Kahn, and it was made by his son, Nathaniel Kahn, who was only 11 years old when his dad turned up dead in a Philadelphia train station in 1974. Turns out that Louis fathered two children with two different women outside of his own marriage, and Nathaniel is one of those children. Through interviews with those that knew his father and visits to the buildings he designed, Nathaniel attempts to reconcile who his father really was. I thought it was an honest, thoughtful, and interesting piece.
