Tomatoes, zucchini, and squash — oh my!

Posted by Steve on August 22nd, 2005

2005-08-21 Take a look at the gorgeous produce coming from our garden right now! We’ve been enjoying handfuls of Sun Gold cherry tomatoes for 2-3 weeks, but now the Early Girl tomatoes are ripening up quickly. Of course, the zucchini continue unabated. Want some? (Hahaha!) I found another 20-incher hidden under some leaves! I decided to just leave it in hopes that it will slow down that plant’s production. We’ve enjoyed several nice Scallopini squash, though as you can see in the photo, we’re starting to have trouble keeping up with them, too. And finally, there were a few straggler beans left on the pole. I think the beans are done. They may have been slightly overwhelmed by the extremely aggressive and prolific squash plants. Stay tuned… We’ll be getting our second crop of Italian Sweet peppers along with our first crop of peppers from the other plant (whose name I can not currently remember).
