Evan is officially 1 month old today! Unlike a month ago, at 6:45am this morning, the three of us were all soundly sleeping. And while the hours and days that followed Evan’s birth were somewhat emotionally traumatic, all of that is now starting to fade as we enjoy watching our little guy change from day to day. We are eagerly awaiting some (non-reflexive) smiles. He still hasn’t figured out that lifting his head off the ground makes crawling a much more pleasant experience. All in good time!

Many of you have asked about Gauss and how he is handling all of this. Obviously, we were cognizant of the potential impact on him from the day we found out we were pregnant. But Gauss is proving himself to be a loving and gentle brother. He gives Evan “baby kisses” and enjoys laying close to him. He’s had to adjust to me (dad) taking care of him more, and of course, nothing dad does is as good as when mom does it. But he’s a good sport and humors me on most things.

Every day we marvel at how lucky we are to have two such wonderful boys….
