Evan is 2 weeks old today. Yesterday he received an A+ at his 2 week checkup at the pediatrician. Not only did the doctor say that he is very healthy, but he also has gained 1/2 pound in a week. He now weighs an impressive 7 lbs 10 oz. It was good to finally get a clean bill of health.

This last week at home has been an adjustment for all of us. Every 3 hours, we change the baby’s diaper, feed him, change him again, and then he goes to sleep. While he is sleeping, we can take a nap, play with Gauss, make dinner, do a little housework, work on our website, or watch TV. Of course, when we think the routine is working well, Evan decides to wake up early to eat, or not want to go to sleep. Ahhh, the joys of having a baby.

Gauss has learned to give Evan little kisses and enjoys sleeping close to the baby during the day. It took a couple of nights, but Gauss now ignores the baby’s cries and sleeps the best he can throughout the night. Gauss is still confused by the dirty diaper smell, but we’re sure he’ll start ignoring that too.

Our lives have definitely changed. We are grateful that everyone is healthy and that we are all at home together.
