As they say, it’s better late than never. We finally got a few plants put into our raised beds. We’ve been so consumed with baby-related projects that we just kept putting the garden off. Last weekend, we finally made it down to the local farmer’s market where we bought some plant starts. And tonight, we put them in the ground.

We’ve got: 4 pepper plants, 4 tomato plants, 2 zucchini plants, 2 scallopini squash plants, 3 poles of beans, and 3 rows of various salad greens.

For a variety of reasons, we’ve not had great luck with our garden in the past. From an overly rich compost mix to an infestation of roots from the neighbor’s tree, there’s always been something to blame besides our poor gardening skills! We’ll see what happens this year….
