Baby’s room

Posted by Jen on March 7th, 2005

We have decided on the paint colors for the room. The walls are going to be a warm cream color and the ceiling and trim an off-white. I never realized how many shades of white and cream there are. It wasn’t as easy as it sounds to pick out the exact right shades to be warm and inviting, but not too yellow or gray or pink… It was quite the job sorting through all the shades and finding just the right ones. With a neutral wall color, we are planning on bringing in some bright and fun colors with the valance, sheets, crib bumper, and other decorations. We are also planning on getting a rug for the middle of the floor. The warm walls and colorful fabrics and accessories should give the room a nice balance. I’m sure the baby will enjoy it!

Steve’s next job is to do a little sanding and cleaning of the walls before he starts painting. I’ll be helping out with washing the walls and taping off the trim but won’t be helping with the painting. Hopefully this coming weekend, we’ll make some more progress on the room and post some pictures. I’m hoping to have the room ready to decorate before the end of March. That will give us plenty of time to get everything ready for our June arrival.

Now we have to look at getting the crib, changing table, dresser, lamp… the list goes on an on…
